I kind of borrowed her characters for an idea I've had for a while. I hope you enjoy dear! :)
Ami settled back, her brand new book perched on her lap and sighed. Usually she would say there was nothing better than a warm afternoon and a book, but she was too worried to care at the moment.
She had had plans with Zoe, but the blonde woman had cancelled at the last minute. Ami had been concerned, things had been strange between the two lately; Zoe had been unusually quiet and distant. Ami wasn’t sure what was going on and that made her worry.
Ami tried her best though to distract herself and flipped open the book. However there was no new book creak, a sound she adored, when she opened it. Flipping through the pages slowly she came across a bright bit of yellow highlighter.
Who had dared take a highlighter to her precious book?
Dark brows furrowed together as she focused on the single word that was marked.
You.
Sighing again, Amy continued on, more slowly this time, and continued to find random words singled out.
Deciding she best figure out if they meant anything, Amy grabbed and pen and paper to write them down and she soon realized they made a sentence.
“You are the most beautiful woman I know. Both inside and out. I love you more than simple words can say and I want to be with you forever.
Will you marry me?”
Ami gasped slightly at the words, how romantic! Surely they weren’t meant for her though? She flipped another page in the book and found, to her great surprise, that part of the book had been hollowed out and settled inside a nook of black velvet was a diamond ring set with sapphires.
A slight rustle of fabric brought her attention up from her lap to find Zoe, kneeling in front of her, a slightly worried expression marring her smooth brow.
“What do you say, Nymph? Will you do me the honor?” Ami flared scarlet before nodding slowly. Zoe’s grin was brighter, and warmer, than the noonday sun as she pulled the ring from it’s resting place and gently slipped it on Ami’s finger.
Ami stared at it a moment, happy tears glistening in her eyes, before looking up through a fringe of dark lashes. She cleared her throat to speak, but found that words were completely unnecessary as Zoe’s lips descended on hers.
Ami could feel Zoe’s smooth fingers as they brushed against her cheeks to tangle in her hair, and sighed into the kiss. Wrapping her lithe arms around Zoe’s waist, she pulled the other woman closer until they tumbled back on the couch.
The last coherent thought either of them had was the same; “I can’t believe she’s mine.”
