(8 millionth time trying to POST THIS GOD DAMN THING WITHOUT THE FORMATTING GOING ALL WONKY!!!!)

1. Uniform

He was all sleek lines and cool looks, the dark colors of his dress accentuating his sharp eyes and pale hair. He bore himself like a trained solider, completely aware of his surroundings.

She sauntered over to him as he pulled off his jacket and flung over the back of his chair. Handing him a glass she curled up in his lap once he took his seat.

This close she could feel his strong muscles as his arm wound around her tiny waist, and marvel at the steely grey color of his eyes--she still found them a touch unsettling even after so long.

Carefully he took a sip of his whisky, and eyed her coolly before gracing her with his full attention.

“Good day?” He asked softly. Even in the privacy of their suite, they were still watched and both of them were well aware of that fact. The only way to keep things truly secret was for them to speak in code.

“The usual.” No further progress.

“Mmm,” he nodded before taking another sip of his drink. “I saw that black cat again today, one has to wonder how it survives here.” I managed to meet our contact, things went well.

She shrugged delicately, “Someone must feed it.” New orders?

“You look beautiful tonight,” he said absently as he brushed back her dark blue locks. “Kiss me.”

She leaned in for a kiss, hoping it looked passionate enough to those watching that it hid the transfer of a small computer chip--one that she would be looking at as soon as she was able.

2. Jealousy

Zane could not help but be jealous of the program, it was a thing of beauty. The complex algorithms turned into a simple state that equaled a first graders math problems.

If he were a man given to dramatics (which he nearly was) he would weep.

He swore to himself that he would kiss the person who wrote the program--be they man or woman. He was delighted to learn that the person who had completed it was a beautiful young woman by the name of Anjelika Mizirova.

Former agent of Silver Alliance and now turncoat for Casus Belli.

Late at night he would study the picture they had on file for her, from her days as a recruit.

Smooth, pale skin. Large, glowing blue eyes that bespoke great intelligence. A shock of bright blue hair that was cropped short. And soft, petal like lips.

Be she ally or enemy, he still wouldn’t mind kissing her.

3. Embrace

The way she moved against him, her soft cries of passion, and the touch of her skin were all a heady drug. Everything was drowned out, the dingy old warehouse they found themselves, the noises of the wharf and the howls of sirens in the not so far off city.

As he kissed her until both their lips were red and swollen, he could forget it all.

Forget that she was the enemy, that she worked for his damned brother. Forget that they were both duty bound to kill one another.

He could even forget that they would never have a happily ever after. Those didn’t truly exist, anyway.

He pulled her closer, taking all the small moments of pleasure and joy that he could.

4. Sunset

Mina stood at the tiny window in the room she shared with Rei, watching as the sun sank lower and lower. The grounds before her were bursting with bright streaks of gold, red and orange like maple leafs in the fall. It was beautiful, but she spared it no real attention, her thoughts were focused on dark, dank buildings that were crumbling into ruin.

She glanced toward the clock, trying to will time to pass by faster. It was dangerous and reckless, but she had to see him again.

Her hand drifted up to touch her lip, and it didn’t take much for to recall the feeling of his lips against hers and the heat of his hands as they grazed across her skin.

Sighing, she turned away from the window to head down for the evening meal.

“Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive,” Mina mumbled softly to herself. Mina fixed a sanguine smile to her face, no could know her true thoughts or intentions--least of all Jace.

5. Rumour

He hadn’t had any notes on her, which had annoyed him at first. But after she became part of the Pax Team, Jace had started looking for any bit of information that he could find.

There were plenty of stories, many that he’d heard before--he just hadn’t realized they were all her.

She was an assassin, a thief, and worked strictly for herself.. until now. But he also knew she was only there for Mina’s sake, which was interesting.

People said that she was heartless and brought many people to ruin, like a vengeful Onryo.

He found her to be lighter than all that, she was fierce and prideful and overly protective of her friends, but he knew that came from love and respect.

All of that added to his growing fascination with the woman, along with her many combat skills and knowledge of weaponry. He had to wonder how someone so young could know so much?

Plus there was her beauty, she was much more than a pretty, but it was hard not to be drawn in by the pale skin and vivid eyes.

It really wasn’t his fault he spent nearly as much time plotting out to kiss as he did working out a plan to take out Casus Belli.

6. Argument

They fought like any normal married couple, but it wasn’t over normal things. They never had an argument about bills or if the toilet was left up.

They had terrific rows over the best set of explosives to demolish the safe house, who would be the one playing cat and who would be playing mouse.

The proper way to defuse a bomb, the best way to raid gambling halls and drug dens.

When things got completely out of hand she would throw up her arms--seemingly having had enough--and start cussing him out in Italian.

That was always sexy and really it wasn’t his fault he couldn’t keep his hands to himself. The hot kisses usually led to make-up sex, which was kind of what normal couples did, right?

7. Milk

Her skin glowed milky white in the dark, her clothes skin tight and as dark as her hair. Wide, navy blue eyes were colder than the glacier as she glared down her opponent.

The blaster in her hand was a familiar weight, and it jerked slightly as she fired the shot.

There was a brief cry of pain, and then the man’s blond head lulled to one side as he slumped to the ground. She moved forward, grabbed the small parcel from his limp hand and holstered her weapon.

Gracefully she moved back to her partner, his face grim as he smirked at the prone form.

“You did good,” Kade whispered and brushed back her dark locks.

“It’s business, love.” Anjelika smiled, leaning up to kiss him.

They broke apart a moment later, and Kade returned the smile as he wrapped an arm around her small waist and led her away, casting one last look over his shoulder. “Goodbye little brother.”
